Towards Better Water Efficiency

Towards Better Water Efficiency

Australian agriculture relies heavily on irrigation water in the rain season from May to October, yet rainfall in primary areas has been far below average since last May. The situation, according to reports, is going to get worse year by year, posing a grave threat to crops and harvests, not to mention to industries and households. To reduce the effects of the ongoing drought, which has been getting worse over the past five years, the Canberra government has implemented a series of severe water restrictions as its permanent policy.

Australians in certain cities now have to live with a new daily water restriction of no more then 150 liters. Hence the trend is for the irrigation industry and business to develop and sell watering products with better efficiency. The most in demand are equipment and devices with effective and efficient water controls, such as timer control systems, flow control triggers, weeping hoses, and micro-dripping lines. These products are bound to replace most of their conventional counterparts.
Not only has the trend of water efficiency caught on in Australia, but more and more countries are also considering more severe water restrictions, as they find themselves faced with worsening water shortage problems. The global drive for water efficiency will go on, with greater awareness and increasing intensity. And accordingly, smart and good companies should conscientiously pursue an eco-advantage business strategy.
